File with Visio objects OK in NT/W97 but with missing bits in XP/W2002

I have a Word file with a linked Visio object that shows
all elements of the Visio drawing if opened on my NT Word
97 system. But the same file shows the drawing with some
elements of it missing when opened on more than one XP
(pro) Word 2002 system.
We are moving from NT/Word97 to XP/Word2002 but because
of this problem we have to push all our Word docs through
the NT system to be able to publish them with confidence
that the linked objects will show in their full glory
without some random bits missing!!
Please help, I've tried everything I know.
