File won't open

I have a 600K Visio file which won't open. I'm using NT,
with Visio 2000. When I try to open the file, I recieve
an error message that states it isn't a Visio file. The
file extension is fine. Does anyone know what might have
caused this, if there are any ways to recover the file,
and if there are any patches to prevent it from reoccuring?

Thanks,

Lisa

Perhaps it is from a later version?
Try downloading the free Microsoft Visio Viewer. If it loads with that then
the vsd is fine.

Take a look at the following URL

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=visio2

I've run into this same problem, just this morning. There is a patch you can download that supposedly fixes this issue. I've downloaded the patch, installed it, but I still get the same error. I fear I've just lost a drawing I've spent many many hours on

Give this patch a shot and see if it helps. If you find anything else that works in recovering your drawing please share the information with me

Kind Regards
Bill
