File Edit View Insert Format Tools Data Window Help

"File" is no longer showing up, therefore I can't scroll to open,
close, save, go to recent files, etc. It stopped showing up all of a
sudden a few months ago. How the heck did this happen and is there a
remedy? It's the strangest thing....How can it just disappear? I would
like to fix it. Please help...(anyone)

Try "View" > "Toolbars" > "Customize Toolbars". Select the "Worksheet Menu
bar" from the list and click the "Reset" button.

If this doesn't bring it back, you can trash the corresponding file in the
preferences.

If you're running Office v.X, it'll be the "Excel Toolbars (10)" file and it
can be found in the "~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft" folder (where ~ means
the current user Home folder)

If you're running Office:2001, it'll then be the "Excel Toolbars (9)", to be
found in the "System:preferences:Microsoft" folder

In both cases, drag the file to the desktop and relaunch Excel. This time it
should be reset to the standard.

Hi Dave,

Since the Tools menu is still there, us it to find Customize

Select the Menu in the Customize dialog box and click the Reset button.
