The Files in my Folders in My Documents are shown in most cases as a list
either with the latest raised at the top or the bottom. In others there
are stored at random.
Is there a way of inserting files between two particular ones, when these
are stored at random?
Thank you all the clever ones!
If you need more information, suggest you post to a newsgroup for your
version of Windows.
In Windows Explorer select a folder and click on View. In the menu list
select Details. Now you should have a series of column headers such as
Name, Type etc. with the files listed below. Right click on any of the
column headers and you should get a menu of column headers where you can
check the ones you want displayed.
Now left click on the Name column header. Now the files should be listed in
file name order. You should see, next to Name, a gray arrow pointing either
up or down. If the arrow is pointing up, the file names will be listed in
ascending order. Click the Name column header again and the arrow will point
down for descending order.
You can select any other column, as above, and the files will be arranged
either ascending or descending by the column name. Try it with Type. You
can have each folder arranged differently or all folders arranged the same.
