Files frozen in word

I bought a computer with office loaded in it but never
received the disc. I bought it from a company in town.I
just bought office xp standard and now my files I've
worked on for school are frozen. Can you help me?

What do you mean by "frozen"?
Do you get any error message?

Also ... go back to the store and get (demand) the disk.

Sounds like an activation issue. Go to Help/Activate Product to either
activate Office or to obtain a phone number you can call for
assistance in activation issues.

And like Rob noted, you *need* a copy of the installation CDs. Without
it you will be unable to apply some of the Office XP patches.
