We did an archive this afternoon to help resolve a sync issue with my
Blackberry Storm. The sync now works (calendar related), but I have lost
EVERY email that was in my folders in Outlook 2007. We tried to do a restore
from last night and still nothing. Am I totally out of luck or could they be
somewhere hidden? It is every email associated with my business and all very
important to me. We have not backed up the entire computer in a while. I am
working in Windows Vista.

It depends on at what point the deletion occurred and also depends on what
the data store is. If the sync process did the deletion, then you're
screwed, unless you use an Exchange mailbox that has Recover Deleted Items
enabled on it.

The archive, or so my husband told me, was done prior to the sync. He did
that incase the sync was not working. I've found a variety of .pst files in
the Outlook folder on my hard drive, but none of them have seemed to be the
right ones.

It is highly unlikely that archiving would delete all mail, unless that mail
is all older than whatever date you chose for the archive interval.
Nonetheless, assuming they really were moved to the archive, why not look at
what PST Outlook is using? Click File>Options>Other>AutoArchive and read
the past to the file. Then click the checkbox that says "Show archive
folder in folder list" and you won't have to wonder. If autoarchive is
active and not disabled, the archive folders will appear in the Navigation
Pane. Otherwise, use File>Open>Outlook Data File to open the PST found in
the autoarchive dialogue.
