Files Locked on Network Share

I have a client that installed Office 2007 Upgrade on three client XP (SP2)
computers. All created files are accessed on a Network Share which runs
Server 2003. When attempting to edit files created in Office 2003 they are
prompted to read only. When attempting to move old files from folder to
folder within the Network Share environment they are prompted with typical
locked file language.

They did not call me to install the package and I am at a loss with this
particular probem. It seems permission based but I have searched by head for
answers and come up with nada. Any help is deeply appreciated.
