Hi,
I was called by a user who got a new PC with a problem.
When they try to open a Word file they recieve the
following:
c:\...\<filename>...is being used by <user?>. Do you want
to make a copy?
What I found is that where <user?> is the author name in
the properties of the file, and not another user on the
network or pc. This affects all Word documants and they
are all located on C:\.
The original PC was windows 98 with Word 97, and the new
system is Windows XP still using Word 97.
Any ideas? Possible permissions problem?
thanks in advance!
