Files won't Publish

When I try to publish or sync many of my files, I get an error message: "500
TOR not Understood". What exactly am I doing wrong. I'm uploading using the
FTP option. I just don't get it.

server error, contact your host.

if your web has FPextensions installed you shouldn't use third party ftp, if thats what you are saying below.

Apparently the file you are trying to upload is in conflict with an existing
file. Is there a reason why you are using FTP?
