[fill a shape with multiple colors]

Please help. How would I color a shape (state/California) with multiple
colors.

A Visio shape can have only one foreground colour. To have more colours
requires grouping several shapes together.

You can use two blended colours with a shape by using a foreground colour, a
background colour and a fill pattern.
