Fill Down Not working after Panther Upgrade

P

Latest Updates on Excel X. OS X 10.3 upgrade (Archive & install)

Excel works mostly fine but the keyboard shortcut for fill down does
not - Cntl-D (It works from the Edit Menu)

Interestingly enough Cntl-R for fill right works fine.

I have deleted all Prefs etc.

I previously typed "include w film dryer" in a cell.
When I try to type "include" in another cell, Excel fills in "Include" for
me.
I delete the extra letters and it re-fills it in again.

I can't figure out how to turn this off.

Clearing the AutoComplete check mark in Preferences didn't change anything.

Thanks,
Bill

I can not tell you how much I have come to hate, HATE, MS Word and Excel for
this kind of stuff.
I have just wasted twenty minutes trying to figure out how to turn off this
one feature, which is 8000 times the amount of time this feature might have
saved me - if I wanted it - over the life of the product.

The same with lists in Word, etc., etc.

Microsoft, CUT IT OUT!

(I can't even find out who to email in MS)

What is precisely the problem ? Do you mean the capital "I" is the unwanted
feature (in which case you can uncheck it from the "Tools" menu,
"Auto-correct" item) or is it something else?

In Excel v.X, the "AutoComplete" feature doesn't fill in the text inside the
cell (as it did in Excel98), it only suggests inside a pop up menu.
