Fill Down

I enter a formula in A2 and I wish to fill that formula
down to Row 950. Rather than selecting all of the cells
and then dragging the fill handle down, is there a
shortcut key to select the cells down to the last row.
If you hit Ctrl + D it will only fill down from above
once in that cell, rather than all the way down. So how
do I select all cells from A3 to A950 and then hit ctrl +
D.

One way, either type in the formula and before pressing enter press F5
(or enter the formula, reselect A2 and press F5), in F5 type in A950
in the reference box,
then hold down the shift key while pressing enter, finish off with ctrl + D.

I bet DP has something even easier when it comes to this.

If you have data in an adjacent column, double-clicking on the fill handle of
A2 will result in a fill down to the bottom of data in the adjacent column.

The double-click on the fill handle is the easiest, the adjacent column
must be to the left unless that is impossible in which case to the right.
But if there are empty cells in the adjacent column then this method
would not be the best for you.

The following will work and is not dependent on the adjacent column
Enter your formula in D2, then in the name box to the left of the
formula bar enter D2:D920 then use Ctrl+D
