Fill Handle not working

i try to drag a formula in a cell "Q2" that has the following formula
(=P2-P1). when i drag this formula down, it gives me the same values
across all cells. the values in Q2 are correct, but Q3-beyond are not.
the only way i know to give me the correct values is go to the formula
bar, and execute the formula one-at-a-time.

any ideas?

Hi Donny -

Take a look at Excel>Preferences>Calculation to make sure you have it set
for Automatic (rather than Manual) recalculation. All the formulas should
update once you do.

It is set to Automatic - not automatic except tables.

As long as you don't have any code or add-ins that might be preventing the
update, I don't know of anything else internal to XL that might be at fault.

Try setting it to Manual, make a minor change to the file, then Quit XL &
save the changes. When you relaunch XL, change the setting back to
Automatic, reopen the file & se if that makes a difference. I'm thinking
it's a Preferences glitch & perhaps that will "un-stick" it... if not you
may need to delete the Preferences & let XL generate a new one.

Others may have some additional suggestions.

With XL closed, try trashing your

~:Libraryreferences:Microsoft:com.microsoft.Excel.prefs.plist

file (where ~ is your home directory).
