Filling in available time slots per resource

Kendra

Hi,

I have a resource (Jane) performing Task A (managing sub-contrat) from 10/1
- 10/30 and Task B (another mgmt task, 20% from 10/16 - 11/15). Jane also
has task C, D, each with 40 work hours.

Jane have the remaining 90% availability from 10/1 - 10/15, then 70%
availability from 10/16 - 10/30, then 80% availability from 11/1 - 11/15.

How can I tell MSP to utilize the above available time slots to schedule
task C & some of task D on those free time slot.

Currently, MSP won't schedule task C & D untill 11/16, after task A & B is
completed.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Candra :)

Candra,

Did you not read the rather lengthy reply I gave earlier? As I
noted, Project will not assign resources. That is the job of the
project manager or scheduler. You need to specifically assign Jane
to tasks A, B, C, and D. At no time can her assignment units exceed
her max. without creating an overallocation.

You can fine tune assignment units through the Task or Resource
Usage view contouring her assignment units by changing the number of
hours per week or day as needed.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
