Filling in email addresses

I can't stand the fact that Entourage automatically fills in email
addresses based on what you've entered previously. Numerous times I'm
typing in a work email address but it defaults to a friend's email
address with the same name that I've used previously. Is there anyway
to turn this option off? Lots of people in my office are tired of
this. Also if you type in an incorrect email address it's there
forever. Any help would be appreciated.

It's actually supposed to be a feature, and it's called MRU (Most Recently
Used) AutoComplete List. Entourage picks up e-mail addresses of incoming and
outgoing e-mail messages and stores them in a list for future reference.
They are not stored in that MRU list forever; the list is limited to 200
entries, so misspelled e-mail addresses are bound to disappear after some
time.

This feature can be turned off in Entourage>Preferences, Compose section,
where, under Recent Addresses, you are given an option to "Display a list of
recently used addresses when addressing messages". Uncheck that option, or,
if you only want to flush the cache to get rid of those addresses stored
until now, hit the Clear List button just below.

You can read some more about this feature on the following website:
