Filter applies on file open

I have a simple custom filter and it launches every time I open the file. I
didn't do anything that I know of to make this happen. The filter is not
applied when I save the file and it is not defined in any views. The only
way I can get rid of this problem is to delete the filter using the
Organizer, save the file and then rebuild the filter. Anyone have any
thoughts on how this happened and how to get rid of it?

wacntn,
It sounds like the AutoFilter is set for automatic. This is a global
setting and can be toggled by going to Tools/Options/General Tab.
Uncheck the box to set Autofilter for new projects.

Hope this helps.

wacntn,
Ok, well that was my first off-the-cuff answer. That didn't help so
let's look at some other possibilities. First, what version of Project
are you using (not that it should matter, but more information is always
better)? Second, does this phenomenon occur with any file? With any
filter? Third, you mention getting rid of it by deleting, saving, and
rebuilding. Does that fix the problem or is the filter applied again
when the file is opened? Fourth, is the file based on a template? Fifth,
it might be helpful to know exactly what the filter does.

I'm using version 2003 Profession SP2.
I never saw it with other files or filter.
Deleting, saving etc. took care of it.
The file is not based on a template.

The filter is as follows:

Actual Finish equals NA and Baseline Finish is less than or equal to "Enter
status date"?
OR
Actual start equals NA and Baseline Finish is less than or equal to "Enter
status date"?
AND
%Complete is less than 100%

Walter,
I don't have any other ideas as to why the filter was automatically
applied but it sounds like the problem is gone now.
