Filter by Form

I'm converting a Filemaker Pro database and the user got
very used to the search function in Filemaker that's like
filter by form, with the exception that you can search for
part of the field anywhere on the form without asterisks.
Is there any way to do this in Access?

Thanks.

No. Why FM picked any part of the field as the default is beyond me. I
thought it was a good idea until the client started using it to find names.

I've never written anything where this feature would be used. (Pick allows
for word searches within a field and when I implemented this the client said
"Neat, but we would *never* use it.")

If you have to have that you'll need the "*" just as you need special
symbols to limit FM to start of field or end of field.
