I'm very new to Access, and cannot figure this one out.
I have a report that I filter by form. It works very well, except I would
like the form to open with the "filter by form" already set. That is, I
don't want the user to have to click the icon to blank the form before
entering the filter criteria.
Also, can someone tell me how to enable a filter to be selected from a combo
box? I would like to have a combo box on the form from which the user could
choose the filter criteria. I can put the combo box on the form with no
problem, but when I hit the "filter by form" icon, the box greys out. So
far, I'm just finding the filter I want first, copying it to clipboard, then
pasting it into a field in the blanked out form. I then have to add
quotation marks to the selection before hitting the "filter" icon. There
must be a better way.
Tks for all help.
