Filter data in a combo based on data selected in a different combo

I am working in Infopath 2007 and wish to filter data in a combo box (Item
extension) in a repeating table. Such data will present the user with a
different sub-set (Item 1 Extension 1, Item 1 Extension 2 or Item 2 Extension
1, Item 2 Extension 2) in the drop-down dependent on the selection made (Item
1 or Item 2) within a combo box (Item) in a repeating table at the next level
up. Both these fields are integer and the resource is an XML table as an
alternative data source.

I have tried various combimations of filters and rules, but so far cannot
get there.
