Filter desktop alerts?

Is there any way to filter wich messages trigger a desktop alert? I'd like
to see desktop alerts for messages sent from only certain contacts/groups or
for messages sent with high importance.

Yes - use the new rule option to create a blank rule and set up the
condition and choose desktop alert as the action. (its at the bottom of the
list)
