Hi,
I've got a large complex form (17 tabbed sub-forms into 12
tables, mostly on variable number many-to-1 rels.) with
several people entering questionnaire details, so they're
having to go back and edit/continue/correct the details
some days after the initial data entry. I tried usign a
different form for each section of the questionnaire, but
I need all the details to be tied together otherwise soem
sections end up losing the reference to the main
questionnaire table.
If I then use the standard filter to search for a specific
questionnaire, I am beginning to get the error
message: "The expression is typed incorrectly, or is too
long to be evaluated. FOr example, a numeric expression
may contain too many complicated elements. Try simplifying
the expression by assigning parts of the expression to
variables."
This is only since I've got about 25 questionnaires
already entered, then this message started appearing, but
I can't understand why - sometimes it doesn't.
I have 1 textbox which has a reference value, identifying
an indivudual questionnaire, but mainly I want to filter
on the recipient's name textbox. Either way I only want to
filter on 1 textbox, so shouldn't be too complex?
I have created this in all the sub-forms bacause there's
too many fields to go in 1 table or 1 query - is this the
problem, as Filter then works on SQL, where Access would
understandibly be overloaded if it tries to run SQL
against all empty controls on the main & sub form?
Any solutions gratefully received, If you need a picture
of the form I could email you it, but I don't know how to
post more details without overloading with SQL &
relationships.
Thanks, Alex
