filter form to a report chart?

Greetings,

I am in need of some assistance. I am new to Access and VBA.

I have a search form whose record source is a query that generates reports
based on the filtered criteria. I have been able to construct reports in the
form of tables from the filtered data, but can not make a report with a graph
that passes the filtered data to the graph. All of the query data appears in
the graph and is not updated based on the filter. The chart's row source is
based on the query.

Any guidance would be appreciated and if any more info is needed, let me know.
