filter in infopath

I am trying to filter information with referance to whether an order number
has been entered or not from an access database. there is no way to add rules
to the query button (they are ignored by infopath) and when I try to add a
drop down list to apply a filter it needs binding to a field in the main data
source (which it can't be). So, how can I apply a filter to find blank spaces
in the data base and return only those records?

I have also asked the question how to filter out duplicate entries in the
database and so far nothing works that has been mentioned on here. I have
tried the examples mentioned in here but of course they don't relate in any
way to using a databased infopath form.

One more thing, why doesn't infopath accept linked and joined tables from
access? according to the literature it does but when you try it out it
disables the submit/retreive options due to one to many or many to one
relationships being present in the tables. What a waste of time and money
infopath is.........
