Filter not available

If I add a repeating table to a form the filter option is there on the
display page. If I then create a secondary data source to an XML file and
change the binding of the repeating section to a group in that data source
the filter options disappear. Also I'm assuming this has to do with the same
thing. When I add a repeating section and then add a text box inside it &
then change the binding of the text box to a field in my xml file It gives me
a warning about binding a non-repeating control to a repeating field or
group. I thought it was a repeating control because it was inside a
repeating section.

Is there something I am missing about filters?
Is there something I'm not getting about repeating controls?

Any Ideas?

Certain filters are not available for browser-enabled forms. Be sure
the un-check the Browser Compatibility check-boxes feature in menu ->
Tools -> Form Options -> Compatibility section.

I don't see that section. I have gone to create a blank form & then tools >
form options, but there is no Compatibility section. I have General, Form
Library Columns, Digital Signatures, Advanced, Open and Save, and Security
tabs, but no Compatibility.
