Filter Pivot table by another column - how?

Hello,

In excel 2002, I have a pivot table based on OLAP cube. One of the
dimensions is customer id, and it shows all customers from the database.

However, the user is only interested in a subset of the customers; the list
of selected customers is in another column.

Is there a way to filter the column in pivot table and show only those
customers that are in that another column? The same can be achieved manually
by the user by using dropdown box in the pivot column, and manually
selecting the checkboxes, but it's too cumbersome.
