Filter unassigned tasks

Hi,

How can I see easily the unassigned work (total)?
I have a master project regrouping 10 other projects, and I thought I could
use a filter in view-> task usage, but I do not manage to setup the filter
easily, and the filter doesnt seem to work on the total of work (eventhough
tasks are filtered, total amount is still the same => including assigned work)
