Filtering by Address Selector

I need to filter a large public folder of contacts ased on which address is
the designated mailing address. It seems like I should be able to do this by
filtering based on the contents of the "Address Selector" field, but whenever
I do this, no contacts show up at all. Is there any other way to accomplish
this?
