Filtering/grouping lost in Saved Links

We've had some users complain that their "Saved Links"
views, which utilize the Grouping/filtering functionality
of Project Center, are deleted periodically (the
filtering, that is, not the actual link). We've narrowed
this down and believe that this occurs whenever the master
view is altered (i.e. a new field was added).

Is this by design? Is there something that we can do to
avoid this? We do have a need to occasionally add a new
field value to a view.
