Filtering in a new project center view

I'm creating a new project center view. I'd like to filter on one of the
fields I've included in the view. When I attempt to filter, the only fields
I'm presented with are the custom outline codes. Is there a way for me to
filter a view based on fields other than the custom outline codes?

It is possible to filter on any field that is displayed in a Project Center
view.

BUT, when you create a view, it is only possible to define a filter view
using Outline Codes.

So, users can filter to their heart's content, but you can prefilter their
data only using the Outline Codes.

That's what I suspected....

A different approach then....If I create a filter by clicking the "Filter,
Group, Search" button, is there a way for me to push that filter out to
users? I don't think there is but I want to make sure I'm not missing
something.

Nope, you can't get around it. You're not missing anything -- other than
functionality that does what you want, which is a common wish-list item for
Project Server.
