Filtering in Forms

I'm not real sure where to start but here it goes. I am trying to set up a
DB form in Access 2003. I have one query which has all of the needed
information for my main form. I have 5 boxes (3 of which are unbound combo
boxes at this time). They are: Entity (a value list I typed in), Department
(from the query), Acctg Period (value list I typed in), BudgetedAmount (from
query) and SumofInvoiceAmounts (from query).

I may have somehow botched my query as I have 12 rows for each department
(which is my GL code description). When I look at a completed version of the
form I have several rows of data...is this a problem with the query?

Problem: each box should filter into the next and do not
Problem: the budgetedamount and sumofinvoice amounts should auto populate
based upon the previous filters and do not (they are constant at this time)

I am a fairly new user of Access and have tried different things the last
few days and can't seem to get anything to work. Please help.
