Filtering on dates in Word2003

Jon

I've recently moved to Word 2003 and i am currently unable to filter my mail
merges on date fields. I have and Access database with an ODBC linked table
to SQL Server that holds the raw data. I can filter on numbers and null
fields, but cannot filter on any date criteria. I know that in the old
version of Word i had to place # round the date, but this new version does
not allow me to do this any more? Are there any other special charaters that
i don't know about. I've check the help files, but they just cover the basics
of mail merging!

Perhaps you will still be able to use the # if you activate the original
Mail Merge Helper which can be done by selecting Customize from the Tools
menu and then going to the Commands tab and selecting the All commands
category and scrolling down through the list of commands until you find the
Mail Merge Helper item and then click and drag that onto a toolbar or the
opened Tools menu.
