Filtering Projects out of Resource Usage View

I am trying to implement a project property custom field called Project
Status that has an option of "On Hold". We want to be able to filter this out
of
resource planning.

In data analysis custom views, this is easy to do. However, when I
have a project open in MS Project, this project is still shown in the
'Resource Usage' view, showing no indication that the project is "On
Hold" because you can't put project custom fields in the Resource
Usage View.

Does anyone have ideas or advice to be able to use a custom field such
as "Project Status" or any other method to be able to filter out projects
from showing up as planned hours?

You are asking for the impossible. There is no way to filter using a
Project field in the Resource Usage view. Hope this helps.

Change the booking type for each resource within an On-hold project to
Proposed. Depending on your view, you can filter that out (but not sure
about the resource usage view...)
