filtering report based on subform control

Hi all - would be grateful for help with the following:

I have a view report button on a subform. I'm trying to set the filter
criteria either on the report or in the query for the report, to show only
the record currently displayed on the subform. I've put the criteria in the
query as Forms!SubFormName!ControlName but when I click on the button I keep
getting a pop-up window asking for the value of the control field. What's
going on? Is there some trick to working with subforms?

You may be referencing the subform incorrectly.
Try Forms!SubFormName.Form.ControlName
