Filtering

I ahve been using the filtering function on a
spreadsheet. I turn it on and off depending on what I am
doing.

The last time I went to turn it off the "arrows" in the
columns were gone. As I went to the menu to the "data"
drop down menu, the "filter" line was inaccessible. It
had that "faded" look which indicates it's not
available. Any ideas on what's going on?

Check that sheet is unprotected
(Tools>Protection>Unprotect Sheet)

Did you edit text in the cell? If you were not out of Edit mode, the
command might not be available. As for the arrows, I've not seen that one
before.
