Filters

Hi

I am wondering is it possible to set a filter to select a Date Range.

I have a group of dates however need to look at only the ones from 01st May
2009 - 30th April 2010.

I have experimented with the advanced filters and cant figure it out. Also
these are seperated with blank rows, Is it possible to select all data and
use a filter this way?

EXCEL 2007

Yes it is possible.

1. Turn on filters at the top pf your data (Data / Sort & Filter group /
click on Filter).

2. Go the the column in which your dates are found and click on the filter
drop down arrow / Date Filters / Between / in the Custom AutoFilter pop up
window that appears select the dates between which you wish to search / OK

This should give you hwat you want.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.

Thanks. I only have a Text Filters option in the drop down box? I have
formatted these columns to Date. I am unable to copy and paste what I have
displayed.

Your column of dates must be formatted as dates (Home / Font group / Number
tab / Date / select the Type: you wnat and hit OK.

I think I have figured out why. The dates have been written in as

Wednesday, 3 May 2009 not in 03/03/2009 format. When I entered them on a
seperate spreadsheet your instructions worked!! THanks heaps!!

Is there anyway of converting this or will it have to be done manually?

Sarah - I think that there probably is a way to do it automatically but I do
not know how (sorry).

Do another posting for that issue and I am pretty sure that somebody else on
this forum will be able to answer that particular problem for you.

THankyou so much for all of your help. I know that once it is converted it
will work. I would not have known that before. So thanks heaps.
