I have smart tags turned on in Excel 2007. For many symbols, such as MSFT,
they're working correctly. I have an indicator in the lower right corner of
the cell, and get a popup with a dropdown when I mouse over the cell.
But in the list I'm currently looking at, the symbols vary in length from 2
to 4 characters. None of the 2-character symbols have smart tag indicators.
This includes for exampl KO (Coca-Cola) and GS (Goldman Sachs). These are
large well-known American companies whose stocks trade on the NYSE.
Is this just a bug? It seems like a rather serious one, if it means I can
use smart tags for some stocks but not others. I haven't found any other
mention of it.
