Find and Replace window opens in full screen

When useing MS Word 2000 (9.0.4402 SR-1), Edit, Find,
Opens a Find And Replace diolog box. The problem is it
opens in "kind of" full screen mode. When I preform a
search and a string is found, I can't see it. I must hit
cancle to close the find and Replace window to actually
see the document.
How do I get the Find and Replace window NOT to open in
full screen?

I am openning a Word 2000 doc from within Outlook 2002. I
believe it may have been this upgrade that created this
problem.

Hi Dennis,

Do you use a graphics driver with multiple monitor support?

The link below describes a similar problem with desk95.exe
(ATI Hydravision multiple monitor support driver).

(from this newsgroup, 2003-6-12, "Fixed problem! with Extra, Empty
Application Window when doing Find & Replace ")

If that is your problem:

When I unloaded the ATI Desktop Manager and
rebooted, that solved the problem!

If you have the patience, I would report it to ATI and Microsoft. They
should sort out between them who is to blame. Or ATI might already have an
updated driver.

Greetings,
Klaus
