find and replace

I have upgraded to MSOffice 2003 pro and when i try to
use ctrl +F to find bullets and replace them with
something else, the find module does not find the
bullets. I tried the setting such as use wildcards, whole
word, and also looked at the more and cannot find out how
to get the find/replace to recognize the bullet and
replace it. I also tried styles, but got lost and bogged
down in the choices. Can anyone help me with this please?
TIA

G'day "joanne" <[email protected]>,

They don't appear anywhere in the range - they are dynamically
calculated and whacked on at render time. The BEST way to deal with
this is ALWAYS use styles. So in this case would would have a List
Bullet style that we could then format > styles > said:
numbering etc to change the defined bullet character.

If this change doesn't 'take', find and replace all instances of the
style with itself.
