Find and Replace

In Word 2000, when I select "Find" or "Find and Replace"
under Edit, Word brings up the Find and Replace box but
hides the document with a new gray page. This gray page
will go away if I right-mouse click it and
select "restore". It seems to me this is a bug but I
haven't found anyway around it at Knowledge Base.

See if you have the dual display video card by ATI. It comes with Hydravision. Based on previous posts, I determined that was causing my problem. Word 2000 works fine except when I use "find" or grammar check. Now, when I am using Word, I "right-mouse click" the ATI logo in the system tray, click Hydravision and click "unload Hydravision". On another post, someone indicated that you can adjust your registry to turn off "desk95.exe", whcih is Hydravision, but I don't like messing with the registry. This seems to do the job.
