Find & delete duplicate labels in 97

We need to combine several mail merges into one
document, and weed out any duplicate labels. Is
there any easy way to do this in Word 97?

Combine the documents - convert the tables to text - sort the text - remove
any duplicates - use the resulting file as a data source to re-merge to a
new document.
