Find Feature won't work

Sporatically, after working on the same document for some
time, attempts to use the "find" feature fail. I click
on Find and it acts somewhat like it does a Save (but it
actually does nothing), & then the toolbar is disabled.
When I click anywhere in the document, the toolbar
becomes functional again but Find still won't work.

Likewise, after Find fails even once, the Customize
feature of the toolbar is disabled. Also, the "highlight
and drag text" feature won't work. For both of these,
closing and reopening Word fixes these problems. However,
closing and reopening Word does not fix the Find problem.

I've done a repair of Word and it helped for a while and
now it's doing it again.

I'm using WinXP Pro, Word2002, and I have the full
version of Acrobat installed and integrated with Word.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Your description doesn't ring a bell.

Do you perhaps use a graphics card with multi-monitor support? You might
kill the multi-monitor support from the task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del monkey
grip), and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, you might consider to
uninstall the multi-monitor support.

Word (in all current versions including 2003) is known to have problems with
multi-monitor support.
