Find MS Project Pro and Std using .NET

Hi All,

I'm writing an Add In using .NET for both MS Project 2003 Professional
and Standard. Since the Assembly structure is entirely different
between the Prof and Std COM components, I need to suggest the correct
version of setup for the clients.

Is there any way to identify the version/edtion of MS Project from
their components?

TIA.

The only difference is that Professional users with Project Server save
projects in SQL server while Standard users use .mpp files. What differences
are you talking about?

Thanks for your reply, I need to know the assembly level difference, to
identify which version of MS Project is installed in the client PC,
programatically.

Yes, but why? What is different in the assembly? Both versions of Project
are identical except for Professional's ability to talk to Project Server.

No. if you see the assembly in .NET environment, MSP Prof lists as
Microsoft.Office.Interop.MSProject whereas, Standard list assembly as
merily MSProject. I could not execute the component in Prof which was
developed using Standard's components.

Try searching the registry. There are a few Project Professional values
there. I don't have standard installed so can't compare with my Professional
version.
