"Find Next" hangs up in Word v. X

C

Carla

I wrote before to say that "Find Next" gets hung up--in Word v. X. I haven't
had it very long, but so far it's happend in every word doc I've edited, and
none of the files have been more than 5,000 words. I used "Find Next" for
years in Word98 for Mac, and never had a problem.

Asmentioned, it keeps getting hung up, stuck on one item, then zooms
ahead if I click "Find Next" again. When it's hung up and I don't click it, it
eventually frees up and moves to the next item, but sometimes it takes a
while and really slows me down (copyediting). I've tried clicking faster and
slower and adjusting the mouse speed, but no luck

Hi Carla,

There have been two answers to your previous post called: Hung up on "Find
Next". Have you looked for the responses?

I'm not sure exactly what web portal you're using to access these
newsgroups, but maybe you'll find this one easier to use:
?guid=366BA05D-4181-BB41-B201-4C83D5F6024C>

Or search this group using Google's Advanced Group search function.

It's hard to tell, but I think you are replying to my previous message...

For X, try these troubleshooting techniques.

See here to make sure you are fully updated:
http://www.mcgimpsey.com/macoffice/office/vxversions.html

Then check for general troubleshooting tips:
http://www.mcgimpsey.com/macoffice/word/troubleshooting.html

Please post back and let the newsgroup know what worked, or if you are
posting back because nothing worked, be sure to explain what you already
tried.

This link has a bit more information if you get desperate, but is presented
in a less straightforward manner.
