find/replace only searches selected record

I recently installed a new harddrive and installed Windows
2000 SP 4. I've also installed Office 2000 (9.0.3821 Sr-
1).
My problem is in Access 2000. I use a database with 10
fields and approximately 1100 records. At times I need to
search for a particular word or phrase which could be in a
variety of fields.

While in the forms mode using the "Find and Replace" menu
option (Look in: The entire database and Match: Any part
of Field settings), the find will only locate the match if
it is in the present record, but in any field. If I change
the Look In settings to a specific Field, then it will
find the match in any record but only if the match is in
that selected field.

On my old system I was able to use these settings and the
find would locate the match in any field in any record.
I'm assuming that there is a setting somewhere that
controls this but I have not been able to locate. I've
checked with other associates at our company with similar
setups and their find functions as it should.
Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
