In the Find & Replace command, is it possible to change the default Match
field from "Whole field" to "Any part of field"

Tools,Options, Edit/Find tab, Default Find/Replace Behaviour - change to
general search

The only thing you should be aware of, is that setting means search 'any
part of field', but it also means search 'all fields'. So you will find it
slower.
