Find the object that increases the file size

I have a PowerPoint format for my presentations - I just received a
presentation made on a plain white background - size 126 KB.

When I copy it into my standard format - the same presentation increases to
9406 KB....

Even if I deleta all slides except for the first one it only shrinks some
200 KB.

Now with just a one-slide presentation I looked at the slide master and
tried to delete background picture, logos etc. - but still I cant reduce the
size of the presentation.

I tried to recreate a new slide master - and that seems to work - but here I
have trouble getting the right formatting on the bullet list etc. in the
variuos slide layouts.

Any hints on what to do?

Go to Tools | Options and uncheck "allow fast saves."

Already did that - that's not the problem...

Somehow it appears that the template I am using also has a slightly
different height-width ratio than if I just create new one from scratch. How
is that?

Go to Tools | Options and uncheck "allow fast saves."

you track down what is causing the problem.
