Finder doen't refresh after file is closed in word 2004. The file is
missing on my Lexarmedia USB drive. I can see the temporary file
created by word. When I click it it disappears. But my main file is
missing.
Cannot understand this behavior.
So I open word again & click on the last file opened & save as: in
lexarmedia & it asks me to replace.

Just a stab...

Try using the finder to search the drive for the file. See if it shows up.

If it doesn't, do the search again for the file name and "invisible and
visible files" selected.

My guess is that it is there.

You could also be having directory trouble on your drive, which is of coures
fairly major unless you correct it.

Run Disk Utilty. If you find you have serious problems, there is no better
software for directory trouble than DiskWarrior. It has saved my (and many
others') bacon many times.

Best,
