Finding a percentage from 2 seperate cells.

Good evening all,

I am creating a new speadsheet for the company that will combine daily
revenue generated by the employee as well as their timesheet. I am
having a problem with auto-calculating a cell that will give me a
percentage the employee sold at; (example..the employee sold 7
presentations of the 10 presentations given). The percentage would be
70%. However, I cannot figure out how to code the cell that the 70%
needs to display in. Visually it would look like this....

B1 has presentations given as 10.
C1 has presentations sold as 7.
D1 (being the cell I want to display the 70%)

Any insight will be greatly appreciated as I will need to do this in
several sections of the new spreadsheet. I am familiar with excel,
though not as in-depth as the writers I have found here.

Hehe..be gentle :)

RedHawk,

In cell D1 put
= C1/B1
This will result in 0.7
Format as a percentage
Just in case you don't know how:
Select cell D1 choose Format -> Cells
Under the number tab choose percentage

Red Hawk,

It is a terrific resource, isn't it? :)

Just so you'll know, your reply to Dan would be best placed as a follow-up
to his post, not to your original post.
