Finding contacts & removing search string

Hi there,

Wonder if anyone out there has come across this before.

In Outlook 2002, on the Standard Toolbar, I have found
that I can use the 'Type a contact to find' box to search
for forenames of people in the establishments Global
Address List (which are otherwise listed alphabetically by
surname, hence searching in this manner).

This works fine, but does anyone know of a way of clearing
out the contents of this box which then seems to save
every entry you key in to search on?
