Finding Options in Word 2007

How does one find the equivalent of Tools >Options> File locations (Word
2003) in Word 2007? I wish to change the Word documents' location.

Press the Office Button, at the bottom of its dialog/menu is a Word Options
button. There you'll find a Save category where the default file location
can be set.

FWIW, I really hate having to hunt all around to find the things I used to
know where they were hidden. O2K7 and Vista seem to be as much an exercise
in change for change's sake as anything else they bring to the table.

But as the saying goes, the only thing in life that is constant is change.

I agree with your opinions on the changes in Vista and Office 2007.
Microsoft assumes the changes will convince us we received value for the
exorbitant costs of upgrading. Procedures that once took one left click, now
require 2-3 clicks, assuming one can find where the item or procedure has
been hidden in the new version.

I think Microsoft is catering to new computer users rather than old
timers like me. The new users don't know there was anything
better/different than the current version. To them, once they learn
the basics, the older versions will seem awkward. I'm still using
Office 97 and it's working fine for what I need it to do. Long live
Edlin!

Wow, I haven't heard a reference to Edlin in, well, a long long time.

So I took a peek - it does still live. Even in Vista! It'll be fun to show
this to my comp sci students! They are so used to drop and drag and powerful
IDEs.
